The Hart FC development Squad is targeted at boys and girls aged from 4 to 6, (i.e. Reception and Year 1 school years). At this age the children are too young to compete in a 'competitive' league, but we have FA qualified coaches to nurture and encourage them to be in a position to enter the League as they move into Year 2 at school as our under 7s squad or squads.

Training is based around ball skills, coordination and generally getting the children to feel comfortable playing as a team, with a variety of games and drills getting them used to having a ball at their feet.

We will be organising one or two friendly matches for the older boys (year 1s) as the season progresses, and our policy is that everyone will get a game. Children progress at alarmingly dissimilar rates so we encourage them to keep trying no matter what their apparent standard.

We meet each Saturday morning at Velmead Community Centre on Zebon Copse between 10:00 and 11:00, if you have a son or daughter in Reception or Year 1 and think they would enjoy playing football, then please feel free to contact any one of the people above, or simply turn up and play.

All we ask is that the children have boots (where possible), shin pads, gloves when it is cold, and a drink of water or juice to keep them hydrated.

Any mums or dads feeling like they have the urge, are more than welcome to join in and help out, the more people we can get to help the better, it makes for a better run club. Hart FC will organise and pay for people to take their coaching certificates if they want to take a more active role. There are very few things more rewarding.

The main aim for the Hart FC Development squad is FUN! FUN! FUN!
